Alice: It’s about time! Why are you showing up now? The party started almost an hour ago.
Jason: I know. I had to take care of some things at the house and next time I’ll make sure I show up on time.

Alice가 Jason에게 “It’s about time! Why are you showing up now? The party started almost an hour ago. 라고 하자 Jason “I know. I had to take care of some things at the house 집에서 할 게 좀 있어서 그랬어 and next time I’ll make sure I show up on time.

Keep today’s phrase ‘show up’ in mind and let’s hear the conversation again.

Alice: It’s about time! Why are you showing up now? The party started almost an hour ago.
Jason: I know. I had to take care of some things at the house and next time I’ll make sure I show up on time.

오늘의 표현은 show up입니다. When you show up somewhere, it means that you arrive or appear at the place that you have previously arranged. And if you don’t show up somewhere, it means that you don’t arrive or appear at the arranged place.

그때 제가 친구에게 이렇게 말했죠, “Hey, why are you showing up now?

Now let me give you some examples. “Raymond didn’t show up for the meeting this morning.” “Hey Carl, are you going to show up for class today?”

Now you know what the expression ‘show up’ means right? Then we will listen to the conversation for the last time.

Alice: It’s about time! Why are you showing up now? The party started almost an hour ago.
Jason: I know. I had to take care of some things at the house and next time I’ll make sure I show up on time.
